.dmg won't open
.dmg won't open
My Macbook Air crashed, and I'm trying to reload software after erasing the disk, and when I click "Already purchased? Redownload here" and download a .dmg, and then click the .dmg, Apple says it won't open it because it can't determine that it's free of malware. Is there a fix?
Re: .dmg won't open
What OS version are you using?

Follow the order exactly:
Open up System Settings
In System Settings, navigate to "Privacy & Security". Leave Window Open in the Background
Open up Terminal (as separate window). DO NOT CLOSE System Settings
In Terminal, run "sudo spctl --master-disable" --> Type Password --> Click Enter
In System Settings, navigate out of "Privacy & Security" Page (For Example -- Click on "Lockscreen"), then navigate back to "Privacy & Security"
In System Settings --> Privacy & Security Page --> Scroll Down to bottom --> Select "Allow Application From" --> Select "Anywhere" (the option will now appear) --> Type Password
Completed
Nick/admins may have a better idea though. That does leave you more vulnerable to attacks from malware.

I took a chance and went into the security section and told it to open this app even though it wasn't Apple approved or whatever. So now it's on my computer. Although it wants me to buy it, and I thought I had a password somewhere from when it was on my old computer.
