add dive site manually to map
add dive site manually to map
I am having trouble figuring out how to add a dive site manually to a map (on Mac OS version of Mac-dive). If I know the GPS coordinates I can add it (and it shows up on the map with a dive site icon). If I don't know the GPS coordinates (without getting them from Google Maps) I can't seem to find anything that lets me manually add a site (with a dive site icon) on the map. Is there a key combination I need to hit?

Re: add dive site manually to map
Good day to you palmerit!
I just did the following and it worked for me in the Mac OS version of MacDive.
1) Select the dive I want to use the new dive site on;
2) click the i icon to bring up the dive details;
3) clicked on the Location tab;
4) zoomed and panned the map to show me the dive site I wanted to add;
5) clicked New Site just above the map;
6) Entered required information (Country, Location, and Site name) and left the coordinates blank; and clicked create;
7) Clicking create caused a dive flag to be placed in the middle of the portion of the map I had zoomed/panned to;
8) I was able to click on this flag and drag it to exactly where I wanted it to be.
That is it, now the dive site has been added and has the correct coordinates. I was able to check this by selecting a different site and then selecting the new site I created and the map changed accordingly.
If that does not work for you please let us know.
Have a fantastic year of diving!
