Importing critters onto dive
Guess this is a bit of a newbee question.... I have put critters on my Macdive. How do I allocate them to the dives I have seen them on ?

For iOS:

For macOS, right click on a photo and choose Identify (either in CoverFlow view, or in the Dive Inspector photos tab). You can also tag them in the Critters text box on the Notes tab of the dive inspector.
On macOS you can also tag them as keywords in the EXIF metadata of your photos before importing, info here:
