Photos won't stay deleted

I had some broken photo links on a few dives. On my mac I chose to delete all the photos, then put the correct photos back into the dive.

Everything was fine.

When it sync's now to icloud, all the previous photos come back and I end up with double the number of photos and duplicates.

I even tried deleting the photos on the mac for this dive, so there are zero photos.

as soon as it sync's to the icloud, I end up with all 65 photos back again.

How can I make my mac the "master" so all photos stay deleted, so I can only add back the correct ones?

Probably I would just reset:

1. Delete iPhone app
2. On your Mac, choose Prefs > Cloud > Reset Cloud
3. Confirm this
4. Wait for 30 minutes
5. Tidy up your photos as you want
6. Enable syncing again on Mac
7. Wait for it to finish
8. Re-install iPhone app

Yeah, I did a reset to make it all good on my Mac, then deleted the iphone app and reinstalled.

I'm all good now, but it takes a VERY LONG time to sync 2800 photos!

It asks if you also want to remove the photos for this reason, I would have said “no”.

Glad it’s working though.
