View vs Edit in dive list view

It's not a major issue, but I keep hitting a confusion issue between the concept of viewing/selecting dives and editing dives in the list mode. There are a few columns in the list mode that show as editable as pull down lists (Site Name, Certification, and Diver).

It seems that almost every time I go to select a dive in the list, I end up clicking in one of these columns, accidentally ending up in a pull down list. I was thinking that perhaps edits for these columns should require a double click, as they do for other columns? Or perhaps there could be distinct view and edit modes for dives in the list?
