Trying to connect Suunto Gekko
Hi, thanks so much for your great product. I tried connecting my Gekko and keep getting this message "Cannot identify dive computer" . I have installed the usb driver and selected the only serial port available. What am I doing wrong. Thanks

Re: Trying to connect Suunto Gekko
I figured it out by reading another post. I just needed to put my Gekko in PC mode first. It worked!

Hello Triggerman.
Good news that you connected your Gekko. I too am a Gekko owner and I'd love to download my dives.
The problem is, the Gekko doesn't have a connectivity feature for downloading. I'm fascinated to know how you did it?
Thanks

Re: Trying to connect Suunto Gekko
The Gekko does support downloading. Suunto just don't advertise it as such. Buy a cable (the same as for the vyper) and it works fine.
Suunto Dive Manager will *not* download dives from it. It specifically checks the model number and then refuses to download. There are hacks to change the model number on your Gekko so that SDM thinks its a vyper and will download. Third party apps, like MacDive, don't do this so it all works as it should.
