I was trying the Suunto DM4 software for some time and gave up, and decided to try Mac-Dive.

FWIW. I like the User Interface better with Mac-Dive and hope we can figure this out. All is not lost if unable, but a wish is a wish.

I am going to try this on my early 2009 iMac that is also running Maverick's OSX tomorrow, and see if that makes any difference.

Thank you again for all of your patience and coaching. I am trying to play by the rules as they say.

If the device won't download in DM4, then it likely won't work in MacDive either. Particularly not if it's the wrong cable.

Another good option: Your friend manages to find his cable, or you can borrow one from someone else that you know works with the D series. Then you can test and since you have the driver installed, everything should just work.

You could email Leisure Pro and ask if they can confirm either way. I'm sure they'd replace it for you if there was a mistake on their end.

I will double check on a MBP tonight that nothing unexpected happens, but I'd be trying to find another cable to test.
