I have been using the software without problems, I made an OSX system upgrade and also a MacDive update, and now I can't download dives. I can do it flawlessly with Suunto DM4, so I know its not a Computer, Cable or Drivers problem.
I'm on a MacBook Pro OSX 10.8.3, MacDive 2.2.2
I get this message:
Error code -6 on Suunto D3 when downloading new dives

That is the incorrect serial port. Go to preferences -> advanced -> scan for serial port and choose the correct one.

I put in a filter to capture and ignore this one for next time, too. But if you Scan you should find something more appropriate (depending on what kind of cable you're using).

After the new update, I'm facing the same problem.
This time after the usb scan, it just shows the incorrect serial port.
I had downloaded all my dives to SuuntoDM4 without any problem. It detects the port and computer immediately

What port does it show? What else is in the list?

BTW, nothing has changed in the update with regards to any Suunto device or anything to do with serial ports, so, the update is not the problem.
Maybe you upgraded your OS recently, which can sometimes remove the driver. Also, having Suunto DM4 open at the same time can cause issues - you should ensure it is not running.

Ok. Sounds like didn't install the USB driver. Check:

Click Suunto, then the link for your cable - I'm not sure which one you have. Grab the latest version of the appropriate one, then download, install, and you should be good to go.
Note: In some cases, upgrading your OS removes the driver. If it used to work, that could be why it no longer works now. Reinstall driver, good to go..
