I exported all my dives (Export » As XML) on one computer, and tried importing that file on another computer (by dragging the file onto MacDive). All I get is "Import complete. No new dives found!".
That should work, right?

Re: Import from exported XML file fails
It *should*
But no, MacDive never had support for this. I know it's odd - by way of some background, this format wasn't really intended to exist. I actually added it as a debug function in order to get some data out for other reasons. I never removed it, and people seemed to use it.
It's all a bit silly. But, I've just spent the afternoon rewriting the exporter, and adding an importer. The format is mostly the same although not entirely, but it can now be read back in by MacDive, because it was a bit dumb that it couldn't. So older files will probably still import but be missing a few bits and pieces.
So as of the next version you will be able to import them. Best results will be had by importing data that was created with this new version.

Re: Import from exported XML file fails
Thanks, that's perfect!
The XML format can be used to import data to Subsurface and en.divelogs.de as well, so it's a good thing that you keep it
