Problem: Up until now I have been using two different computers each with MacDive. One used by me and the other by my son. But now for ease of use I want to revert to just one computer. I know how to create separate dive logs and there are now problems importing directly from the different dive computer (mine Vytec, his Gekko). But somehow his dive computer made a mess of the dates of previous dives (sorted now so no problem from now on). No way I can import them directly. Tried but can't make head or tail out of them.
My question: I want to import his dives from the other Mac into MacDive. How do I do that without loosing mine? I can't just add the .sqlite file to the library application support, it will only replace the existing one and in doing so loose my dives. If I choose "import dives" I get a window saying "select computer or file" but I can only select different divecomputers.
Is my only option to manually type all the dives? I hope not! Please help.

Re: Joining two accounts
You can export a UDCF or UDDF file from one computer, and then drag and drop it to MacDive on the other (or Download Dives -> File Formats -> UDDF)
Re: Joining two accounts
Think i've found it. Just one small thing; I see I can export selected as UCDF and .xml not UDDF. I guess that will work as well?

Re: Joining two accounts
You will find that UDCF is not 100% compatible with MacDive and you may need to do a little massaging (for example, site names - the country/location/site concept is a bit different).
But the main profile data and stuff should come over ok.
Keep the old MacDive.sqlite file around as at some point I would like to add a way to properly transfer dives without using a third party format, but for now UDCF should get you 90% of the info.

Re: Joining two accounts
will do. Just merging the two files when importing would be great. Program is getting better every time.
And if we're doing requests; importing directly from iPhoto would be nice

O dear this is what you get if you let a computer illiterate play around with files.
Still no idea what I did but the dives from the UDCF file suddenly popped up. Just lost the diver and his buddies and for some reason the Gas Model is messed up but that's easy to rectify.
Earlier (but this can be discard now)
I now have exported all dives from one computer using UDCF. I even have this file on the other computer but for some reason I can't get them to import. Tried Import dives and from the window choose file / UDCF and then import (file on desktop) nothing happened. Same with the file in the MacDive folder, same result.
Did launch MacDive again after trying.
(I now really have to get the multiuser account

Re: Joining two accounts
Glad it's all sorted. Not sure why they wouldn't immediately pop up, that sounds odd.
But - all good!
