Migration from Windows Diving Log

Post by uw_photographer »

Hi,

I have switched to using a mac and now the only piece of windows software I use is Diving Log, which is a great piece of software, but its getting pretty irritating using boot camp just for this. MacDive looks good too, but I cannot see anywhere about importing dive logs from other software- I have looked at the user guide, but it does not seem to have anything on this. As i have over 800 dives in my log (profiles, gps locs, etc), this is pretty important to me.

Can anyone advise me on this please?

Regards

Charles

Export a UDDF file from Diving Log and drag/drop it on to MacDive.

Thanks for your reply.
Is there some documentation on this? (I did look) Does that file type carry across all fields?

It is covered in MacDive's help - drag/drop supported file types.

It does not cover every field, no. It covers what UDDF covers. The alternative is to sync Diving Log with Dive Log on iOS, and then sync that back to MacDive. UDDF is easier if you don't mind the data it doesn't copy. You're just going to have to give it a try and see if the results are suitable.
