I cannot get the file import straight between my wife and I. The automatic assignment of names gets the listings all confused since we have used similar, but different serial number computers. If I buy the multi-user license, will I then have two completely separate programs and file sets to open even if on the same macbook? My goal is to be sure the program cannot mingle the files.

Re: Multi User
Yes, to use MacDive for more than one person you should use the multi-user license. Hence the name
Once you add a piece of gear (which will happen automatically after an import), it will have a serial number associated with it. You can then set the "Owner". New dives imported using this dive computer will then be assigned to that owner automatically.
You get a "Diver" playlist made for you automatically on the left sidebar to filter your own dives, and you also have the option of adding "Diver=X" to any smart divelogs you create so that you can include that in your custom filters.
So you have two options: use the default and custom filters to view only your data, or use separate user accounts if you want it completely separate (but note, that means you can't share sites etc).
