I loaded up the trial version earlier this evening and successfully downloaded 5 dives.
great!
So I have bought the real version but now I get "Failed to read header information (Error Code: -5) when I try to download the rest of my dives."
I have a mosquito and a macbook.
What have i done wrong? I double clicked on the licence in my email which seemed to open macdive for me.
What to do next?

Re: Failed to read header information (Error Code: -5)
Have you followed the trouble shooting steps?
The trial is the same as the full version. It's likely an intermittent error or you forgot to put it back into PC transfer mode. Make sure you unplug the device for a minute and try again.

Re: Failed to read header information (Error Code: -5)
Hi,
Did you manage to fix this problem?
I was also able to download initial 5 dives so purchased the license. I have since been unable to make contact between laptop and Vyper Air.
Have followed the troubleshooting steps:
Make sure you have installed a USB driver
Yes, downloaded Snow Leopard drivers from Custom Idea website
Make sure the device is in transfer mode
Vyper Air has no transfer mode as far as I can see it is automatic
Configure MacDive
I am connected to post: /dev/tty.SLAB_USBtoUART
Error Messages
I get message: "Failed to connect to serial port XXX"
Low Battery
Battery is fine
Of the last 20 times I have tried to connect the cable the computer has only gone into data transfer mode once. Even on that occasion I was unable to import dives into macdive.
Everything works fine using Dive Log 5.0 on my Win 7 work computer.
Thanks,
K.

Re: Failed to read header information (Error Code: -5)
Try downloading immediately again after a failure. There is a known problem with the Vyper Air, where it fails to wake up the device the first time, but it works if you try immediately again.

Sorry, my mistake. Error reads:
"Failed to read version information (Error Code: -5)"
Not as per above.
