Sherwood Insight

I am having trouble logging dives from my sherwood insight. I get an error code -6 nearly every time I try to log dives. I can occasionally log a dive but never on the first try. Probably an easy fix but I can't figure it out. Thanks for any help.

Make sure you're not using a USB hub, give the contacts a clean and make sure you have a good connection.

Thanks Nick. I cleaned everything and still get the same message. Maybe I'm not cleaning it well enough. Is there something you would suggest that I may be missing? I'm not using a USB hub, just straight into the mac.

I'm not sure what the connector looks like, but I was playing around with an Atom 3 last night. It can be difficult to get the cable on that connected right - sometimes it goes in to PC mode but won't download. I jiggled it around, tried a few times, and eventually got it working.

When I did, it failed the first time, but upon downloading again (it was still in PC mode) it worked. Again I'm not sure what the Sherwood connector looks like but it may be the same - a bunch of these devices are similar. Sometimes you just need to jiggle it around and try a few times until you hit the sweet spot.
