It cares because it can’t find the correct serial port, so it’s trying something random, most likely because the usb driver has not been installed.

Select a dive. Tap the Gear tab on the profile. At the top, is Weights.

Make sure you’ve installed the usb driver.

If you delete a group, no, the gear won't be removed from any dives.
