Use the same cable as the Vyper, Cobra, etc.

The Gekko technically supports downloading, but when the Suunto software detects a Gekko, it will refuse to download. So it's purely a marketing decision by Suunto that is enforced in its own software.

Suunto finally got off their high horse, and the replacement for the Gekko (the ZOOP) allows you to import dives to SDM on Windows. However, that doesn't help us Gekko divers... what does is a little program that (will void your warranty, though if you change the setting back I'm not sure how they'd know) change the Device Identifier from Gekko to Vyper. SDM then has no issues in allowing import. You're looking for Gekko2Vyper and there's a lot of discussion about it out on the internet. Google is your friend :)
