Sold / Destroyed Gear

If a piece of equipment is deleted from the gear section it is also deleted from the dives it was used on.

Is there a way to add a check box to the gear list to set the gear item as disabled so it no longer shows up in the list of gear to add for a new dive but is still shown in the gear section so its not removed from dives before it was sold?

This is a great idea, and I'll include something in the next major update.

I agree, this sounds like a very nice feature. Also very helpful for handling rented gear.
