Support for Shearwater computers with multiple transmitters
Re: Support for Shearwater computers with multiple transmitters
Sure, database sent.
Re: Support for Shearwater computers with multiple transmitters
While at it, I saw in the profile you currently display both RMV and SAC rate.
I understand (as per this article: https://cavediverharry.com/rmv/) RMV is supposed to be the air consumption in like liters/minute of air that moves through your lung so it is not normalized to depth. SAC however is practically the same, but is adjusted to be the air consumption at sea level, so there is depth adjustment in this.
Is that how it is treated in MacDive? Or is RMV depth-adjusted/normalized as well?
I usually look at SAC to get a general indication of whether it was an easy/normal/heavy dive. But I can see you show SAC in bar/minute. Can we have a toggle to display SAC in liter/minute (of course would require definition of correct tank sizes for the dive), or is that supposed to be the RMV, which according to above article should not be the same however, so unsure if that's the case?
Can you shed some light on these two figures?

Re: Support for Shearwater computers with multiple transmitters
Thanks for doing great work Nick! Just about to send you my sidemount/transmitters database, more info in the mail!)
Re: Support for Shearwater computers with multiple transmitters
Hi Nick,
Just switched to CCR (Divesoft Liberty) and was interested in this feature. I will hold off on buying a second transmitter until MacDive can support both though. Just so you know this feature gets an extra vote!
Thanks

Re: Support for Shearwater computers with multiple transmitters
Just saw that Shearwater is adding a Sidemount mode to Perdix AI and NERD 2:
So the computer calculates SAC based on both tanks now, at least for display.
Not sure if this affects how gas consumption is reported when downloading dives from the computer. I'll dive on Saturday and will give the new firmware a test to see how this imports into MacDive afterwards.
https://www.shearwater.com/wp-content/u ... nglish.pdfA sidemount mode has been added.
The differences in sidemount mode are:
• Reminder indicators are shown to prompt switching tanks.
• SAC and GTR are calculated on the pooled gas quantity of the two tanks. The tanks must be the same size.
• A RTR (Redundant Time Remaining) display option has been added. This is the GTR calculated only on the tank with less pressure (i.e. the GTR if the higher pressure tank was lost).
So the computer calculates SAC based on both tanks now, at least for display.

Re: Support for Shearwater computers with multiple transmitters
Hey! Now Shearwater supports even more transmitters and I'd love to log the consumption in MacDive. Is this feature still considered?

Re: Support for Shearwater computers with multiple transmitters
Any update on this? I'm currently doing a lot of sidemount dives and use 2 Swift transmitters for my main tanks. When importing the data into MacDive it appears to only read a single transmitter and not both. Which is a bit of a downer. The information appears to be available as the Shearwater software does show both tanks and the combined SAC when in sidemount mode. My current solution is to calculate the average high/low between both tanks which then gives me an approximation of the SAC/RMV.
Would be very nice to have this feature in MacDive as well, although as a software engineer I can imagine this isn't the easiest thing to achieve without breaking to much other things.
Doing some investigation the major vendors (Mares, Suunto, Shearwater and probably others as well) now all support multiple transmitters, some even up to 20. Given that fact now might be the time to introduce this feature.

Re: Support for Shearwater computers with multiple transmitters
I am also waiting for this, rebreather diver.
I can also provide any files and help test if needed.

Re: Support for Shearwater computers with multiple transmitters
Any updates on this? Is it coming?
I'm also waiting on this but with a Ratio computer. I'm kinda starting to look at different dive log solutions as there doesn't seem to be any development updates on MacDive lately.

Re: Support for Shearwater computers with multiple transmitters
Hi. Any news to this feature? Would be great, if i can see both transmitters from shearwater also in the macdive app. thx
