Max depth problem...

I downloaded a trial version of MacDive to see if it will do everything I need before I switch. One observed oddity: I have several dives where the "Max Depth" reported is different than the actual maximum depth that I can see if I mouse over the deepest point on the graph. For example, I have a dive where the deepest point on the graph is 34.30 feet, and the max depth in the table is reported as 32.81. I also have a dive where the max depth reported is greater than the deepest point in the graph. The "Max Depth" reported in the computer itself seems to match the graph data.
I am using a Shearwater Petrel.
I can imagine a case where the reported max depth would be greater than the deepest depth in the graph if the Petrel records the deepest instantaneous value, but that value just isn't captured in the graph because of sampling rate. But I can't imagine why I have a dive where there are actual sampled data points that are deeper than the max depth that MacDive is reporting.
Any ideas what is going on?
