Adding photos from iPhoto

Is there a way of adding edited photos from iPhoto. Drag & drop only appears to work if the photograph hasn't been edited. I tried to drop a colour corrected cropped photo but it doesn't seem to recognise the photo is there, (ie the plus symbol doesn't appear).

I'll take a look at this, I'm not sure off the top of my head.
