Aloha,

I'm having an issue where once I did a swap over to my MBP w/ Retina I noticed that it split all of my dives into two columns from there on out. Whenever I download new dives they all come in under "Oceanic Diver" instead of being under my name, like my first 350 something dives imported. I've only used this one dive computer with the program so why does it have another labeled as "MultipleVendors Multiple Devices" and why can't I delete that out of the Gear Box and have all dives selected and merged to 1 computer? 1 diver...?

MultipleVendors / MultipleDevices comes from importing via UDCF, when there are multiple computers in the file - since UDCF only imports one dive computer.

The way Owner/Name works is described in the help, but to summarise: When you download from a dive computer, MacDive tries to find a match in your Gear. If it does, whatever the Owner name is will be used as the owner.

So. To resolve your issues, I think you should be able to:

1. Go to Gear, choose your Pro Plus, and ensure that the Owner is you. This will make future dives download correctly.
2. Select all dives. Open Dive Inspector. Under "More", change the Dive Computer to "Oceanic Pro Plus 2". This is separate from the gear, mostly for legacy reasons. You can change it in one go.
3. To change the Diver, you can also select all dives, Dive Inspector, General, change the owner.

To add to this slightly.. I am guessing that to move your data, you just exported it all to UDCF then copied that over to your new computer?

There's a section on finding/backing up/copying your data. Doing it that way is much better. UDCF does not translate 100% to MacDive, so you will be missing things. Can you just copy your data from your old computer to the new one? It will be much better.

If not, what I mentioned above will address the issues you mention.

Yes, that did help me push it all together, thank you! I guess it was just a matter of learning the interface. It still adds my computer when I plug it in rather than just showing 1 on the sidebar. I suppose I can tinker with it some more. Thanks for the speedy/helpful response!

The sidebar shows the unique dive computers, as a quick filter. So - make sure that they have the same spelling (I think it is case sensitive too) as the actual dive computer from the "computer" field of the table. Maybe you have "Oceanic ProPlus 2.1" in Gear, and "Oceanic Pro Plus 2.1" in the computer field, or something like that?

That means that when you download it uses the Gear's name (since it finds a match in your Gear) and sets Computer to the different value. It's a little complicated behind the scenes as it's trying to be smart enough to deal with multiple computers for multiple divers, along with some legacy issues.
