Error code -6 on Suunto D3 when downloading new dives

Seems like I'm having the same problem, but it wasn't resolved by re-installing the driver.
The connection to the D6i has always been a little weak with MacDive, but now even when I connect as carefully as possible, and hold the connection in place it gives me error 6. DM4 downloads okay, but I reallly want to see my dives with MacDive!
