Nick,
I have a Mac Air, OSX 10.8 and all was working well with my Suunto 4Di for about 200 dives. I hooked up my daughter's Suunto Cobra, and downloaded her items quite easily.
Now, my D4i cannot connect. I reloaded the FTDIUSBSerialDriver_v2_2_18 and loaded it 4 times, each time it said successfully installed, and restarted the machine after each time. The only driver coming up in preference is /dev/tty.usbserial-STUCJAYG. I would have sworn it was /dev/tty.usbserial-000001 before or something similar. After the installs of the driver, this was the only driver available in the preference window.
The download starts, then I get "Import Error- Failed connecting to dive computer on serial port /dev/tty.usbserial-STUCJAYG (Error Code -7)" I am using the offical Suunto download USB cable, which has always worked.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Terry
PS: Nick, found the reporting process and sent in a report after running the terminal program.

I think you just emailed me this same issue. I will respond there rather than in two places.

Also the d4i and cobra will report different USB ports.
You should clear out the field in MacDives preferences and let it auto detect otherwise you will have to do it each time between the cobra/d4
