Hi Guys,
I have downloaded the trial version so I could have a look before I commit to buying it, I have a new Suunto D4i (with no dives logged on it), I have downloaded the usb serial drivers, but when I connect it to my macbook pro mac-dive doesnt see the computer, is this a limitation of the trial version?
Thanks

Re: Question about trial mode
No, you can download up to 5 dives. I would need a little more information to help you.
Are you selecting File -> Download Dives -> Suunto -> D4i ?
It won't just magically pop up and start doing something, you need to tell it to download. If you are, what error message are you receiving? Have you read Troubleshooting Downloads in the help?

Re: Question about trial mode
Hi,
Yes I am selecting download from the gear menu, and selecting the correct computer.
Like I said I dont have any dives logged on the D4i, so i understand that it wont download anything.
What i was after is some kind of confirmation that the setup i have done is correct, I love the software (from what Ive seen) and wanted to be sure that i wont have issues when I start using it. is there some way to check, should it appear in the computers on the left of the screen?
Thanks
Nick

Re: Question about trial mode
If you have Growl installed, you will receive a notification saying "No new dives". Otherwise you will see it in the status bar. If you click download and there is no error, you will see "No new dives" in the status bar and all is well.
The easiest thing to do is just go and do a dive, and then download. The D4i works well. You will see the D4 in the left bar once you have some dives. You will not see it just because it is plugged in. This is a filter for existing dives.

Re: Question about trial mode
Hi There,
Thanks for that, I just checked again and I got the message of no new dives, so I guess I must have it installed correctly, Im gonna be diving in the week so will check again when i have some dives logged on the suunto.
out of interest, what is Growl, is it something I am likely to need/use?
Cheers

Re: Question about trial mode
In that case, it worked fine.
Growl is a system for providing notifications. It was around long before Notification Centre in Mountain Lion, and in fact it can pass notifications to NC these days. Do a google, it's also on the app store. If you don't have it installed you should still see notifications appear.
