Unable to sync to Dive Log on iPhone & iPad

I am trying to sync my dives between Dive Log on my iPhone & iPad and MacDive on my MacbookPro. It seems I can only sync to either the iPhone or the iPad, but not both devices. Is that right? If not, how to I make it work?!?!

It works for me to sync between MacDive and Dive Log on my iPhone and my iPad. You have to do them one at a time, and exit the sync process on the iPhone before you enable synchronization on the iPad (for example).

As above, that may be your problem.

As far as Dive Log / MacDive are concerned, there is really no difference between the iPad or iPhone versions. They work the same way so the issue is probably something like that.

I am able to connect to both devices and initiate a sync. The problem is the sync part - it just doesn't seem to be working properly.

I don't currently own a dive computer (I am about about to buy one). When I synced my iPhone with Mac Dive, the ten dives I had previously entered manually into Dive Log, appeared in Mac Dive fine. The problem is that I am not able to then sync them to Dive Log on the iPad - it says it is syncing but they are not showing up.

The other problem is that changes I have made in Mac Dive are not syncing back to the iPhone. In Mac Dive, I corrected the location of all the dive sites I had added on the Phone by manually editing the Lat & Long of each site in the 'Sites' section. I also added a few new dive sites. When I synced back to the iPhone these changes are not showing up under each dive in Dive Log.

Any idea what is wrong?

It sounds like you are not selecting "Use new logbook" in Dive Log after the sync has completed.

But further to that, it's a complex process. The best thing to do is follow the instructions for reporting problems in the help under iOS sync guide, and send me both sets of data. Then I can investigate properly.

If you haven't read the help, do it - it also explains how to tell what will happen during the sync process. This is the best time to see if what you expect to happen will happen and we can debug it from there.
