Failed to read header information

Post by pokryfka »

Hi

I failed to import data from my Suunto Vyper computer.

I have OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.1
I have original USB connector (though I am not 100% sure which way to connect it, I tried both directions).
I installed FTDI USB driver.
The serial port is create - /dev/tty.usbserial-ST000001
The device is recognized in System Information:

Suunto Sports Instrument:

Product ID: 0xf680
Vendor ID: 0x0403 (Future Technology Devices International Limited)
Version: 4.00
Serial Number: ST000001
Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: Suunto
Location ID: 0x04100000 / 4
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): 300

I keep getting the error: "Failed to read header information" , error code -5 in MacDive 2.1.5, and -7 in MacDive 2.1.6

Cheers
Michal

Hi,

Take a read of Troubleshooting Downloads in the help, but first, I'd check that the device is in PC Transfer Mode, and doesn't have low battery.

Hi

It is in PC transfer mode and does not have low battery.

I read Troubleshooting but the only suggestion I found is that it might be not properly connected.

Have you read the help? For starters, is this device in transfer mode?
