Liquivision computers

Post by Benthic »

Hi Nick (and TnT),

Just a quick question - are there any plans to support Liquivision computers?

I'm considering a Xen or Xeo

Cheers

I already got a couple of requests for liquivision computers. I intend to have a look at them, but at the moment I simply get more support questions and new requests then I can handle. So it's on the todo list, but I can't tell when it will happen. (And as usual, there is never a guarantee that we can make it work in the end, although we have done pretty well so far). Just send me an email, so I have your contacts and I'll contact you once I start at it.

Liquivision already have a Mac IR device/driver/app for getting the data off their computers (Xen, Xeo and soon-to-be-released Lynx). The data is stored in a proprietary binary format.

I have been in contact with the company, and they are open to the possibility of helping developers decode this data for use with their applications. They have already helped Sven Knoch with Diving Log and are aware of MacDive.

So Nick, I can provide you with a contact to work with - and when I get my computer (soon) will be happy to test with you and send sample logs.

The latest MacDive has Liquivision Xen/Xeo import. It's a 2-stage process - use the Liquivision software to get the data off the dive computer and then import the resulting "lvd" file into MacDive. Seems to work very well. B.

This is good, I see they are going to be releasing a recreational wireless computer called Lynx this year. It looks promising, but I was concerned about MacDive supporting it.

Since it does support it, or at least the file format, I'm going to see if I can find out more about it's release date etc...

Would be nice to be able to import directly, but that can come later.
