Perhaps I'm using gear items wrong.
I have 3 reg sets (primary, spare and pony). I have each item (1st stage, 2nd stage, octopus, SPG, transmitter) as separate entries in gear including their serial number, purchase date, etc. I then have groups which includes all the components.
The above works well for dives as I can just add a group to a dive or have a default group that gets added automatically.
The problem comes when the reg sets are serviced. While I only get one reg set serviced at a time, there are still multiple items which get serviced together. It would be nice to either select multiple gear items and update their service information or update service via the gear group.
