Re: Usage of the certification-field

I originally added it to record what level I was at the time, eg how many dives I did as an OW, etc. Ah. Wouldn't that actually be a nice "automatic" feature, as if you added the certifications right, you have all the info in the database anyway? :o Although it probably wouldn't be that e...

Usage of the certification-field

Good morning. Again, here I am, with a basic "how is it meant to be used" question. Having stacked quite a few certifications/brevets I was wondering: How is the certification field "meant" to be used? Do I just specifiy the "highest" viable certification there? (CMAS *...

Re: MacDive and Dropbox?

I've also put up a short guide (and "disclaimer") in this thread a while ago:

Been using this method ever since. (Desktop at home, laptop when on holidays/seminars)

Re: MacDive For iPad

I don't really mind using DiveLog for that. A clean sync and a way to import from computers on mobile devices would be quite the feat though, as it would save the hassle of taking a laptop everywhere. Unfortunately it's not as easy as just using Apple's USB-adapter, plugging your cables in and go, A...

Re: New Diver New User

1. Short of manually doing the PG calcs, does MacDive have the capability to show that when analyzing the dive (for record). Pressure groups are not supported. You can't really use the PADI ones or the SSI ones etc, they don't like you doing that. And I'm not about to write my own tables. Besides, ...

Re: MacDive and Dropbox?

Yes, but you should also copy the gear/site/certification images and such.

I'd recommend copying the whole

/Users/your username/Library/Application Support/MacDive/

folder if you want to be safe.

Re: Average/Max Ascent speed

Cheers! No panic. :) That just popped into my eye when I looked at the data, I don't really have a use for that information and it only appeared on that one dive. I wasn't really able to replicate it anyway. Just wanted to point out that there might be something that's going wrong. As always, if you...

Average/Max Ascent speed

Hi (should I already add the "it's me again!" here? :D ) I did a freedive in the pool yesterday where I stumbled upon some rather peculiar data, as you can see in the screenshot: The Avg Ascent Speed is higher than the Max Ascent Speed. Is that a bug? Some interesting rounding going on or ...

Re: Grouping dives/creating sessions

Sounds good. :) It was just an image a glued together in Pixelmator to make it easier to understand (and maybe also make it a more "productive" suggestion). A universal solution would be a perfect thing I guess - it's just that this issue probably hits freedivers the hardest because of the...
