I just did (with only the cable plugged in). I get this:
/dev/tty.Bluetooth-Modem /dev/tty.Bluetooth-PDA-Sync
I scanned again and didn't find it

yes. I downloaded and installed it. My d4i is plugged and displaying "data transfer" on the screen. I clicked on scan and it only says "no serial ports found"
