I want to be able to generate backups of the database regularly as an extra layer of security, just like I do in my other database based softwares. An easy way to do that in the software is all I am asking for, "Backup database" and the choose backup location, done.

Re: Backup
Any news on a backup feature? I use Time Machine but that is no great solution if for example the database gets corrupted. As I do with Lightroom I would like to have the possibility to easily do an extra database backup from within the software so I have an extra layer of protection.

Re: MacDive and Dropbox?
Thanks for the feedback.
I am still hoping for a way to do it within the software, something as "easy" as just being able to say that the data should be stored in folder X instead of Y (where X is a Dropbox folder) would be great.

Thanks, I will give it a try.honigferd wrote:Yes, but you should also copy the gear/site/certification images and such.
I'd recommend copying the whole
/Users/your username/Library/Application Support/MacDive/
folder if you want to be safe.

Re: MacDive and Dropbox?
Ok. If I understand the documentation at http://www.mac-dive.com/help/index.php?title=How_do_I_backup_my_data_or_transfer_it_to_another_computer%3F correctly it is the file MacDive.sqlite in /Users/your username/Library/Application Support/MacDive/ that should be copied to Dropbox to have a backup o...

Re: MacDive and Dropbox?
Thanks for the fast answer. In my case I would only use it as a backup, the editing would still only be done on one computer, but if it is not supported I am not sure that I want to take that risk. Both iCloud and Dropbox are fine for me, the only issue is the financial aspects for us customers that...

MacDive and Dropbox?
Is there any support to use Dropbox with MacDive so the database is stored in the cloud as a backup?
Thanks.

Mountain Lion support
I've just upgraded to Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and I had to reinstall the driver to my Suunto Zoop to get it talking to MacDive again, perhaps this is a problem others will have too.

Re: What dive computer should I purchase?
I use a Suunto Zoop dive computer, I find it easy to use and suitable to the type of diving I do and it syncs nicely with MacDive too.
