Cannot connect Suunto Mosquito or Zoop under MacOS 10.6.4

I bought the "New USB Cable for Suunto Dive Computers" from CustomIdea.com and installed the CP210x USB to UART Bridge Virtual COM Port (VCP) driver from SiLabs.com that's supposed to drive this. Followed all instructions. Neither the Mosquito nor the Zoop syncs with MacDive. Keep getting an error message saying, "cannot recognize computer." What am I doing wrong? Is there a problem with the Mac Snow Leopard OS and these devices?
