Failed connecting to dive computer - Suunto Zoop Novo

I am unable to connect to my dive computer. I have a Suunto Zoop Novo. I have a MAC OS 10.13.4. Both the dive computer and cable are new as of this year. I disabled bluetooth and the error message I receive is:

MacDive encountered a problem downloading from your Suunto ZOOP Novo:

Failed connecting to dive computer on serial port '/dev/tty.usbserial-ST06Y82S' (Error Code: -7)

This can be caused if you have something else running at the same time, eg SDM. Also a low battery will cause it. And a bad connection, make sure the cable is not damaged, the contacts aren't wet, etc.

Make sure it's in PC Transfer mode as well. Either way, in general this is a hardware issue (cable or device).
