We thought we'd start the year nice and early with some new releases. The primary update here is significantly improved cloud syncing performance. There are some big changes behind the scenes to facilitate this, please let us know if you run in to any issues. Things should sync a LOT faster, particularly photos. My personal data traditionally took 3.5 minutes to check if any photos needed to change, this now takes 2-3 seconds. Data-wise, one of the larger sets I had took around 45 minutes to go through the initial sync process. This now takes about 4 minutes, with a good chunk of that being my upload to Dropbox.

Photos are now synced to your iPhone by default. If you have a lot, you'll be asked for confirmation however. Hopefully this is a little less confusing! You can also disable syncing of photos by dive, so if you want to cut down how much you store you can do that.

First, MacDive for Mac, v2.6.0:

New Features
  • Major cloud syncing performance improvements.
  • Added support for the Divesoft Freedom and Liberty.
  • Added support for the Oceanic F11.
  • Added a tool to batch adjust the date/time of dives.
  • Added a tool to merge dives entered manually with downloaded profiles.
  • Added a tool to simplify providing diagnostic data from a dive computer to us.
  • Added “Currency” to Gear.
  • Added some new user requested flags.
  • Added the ability to choose whether photos are synced per-dive.
  • Various UI fixes and performance improvements.
Bug Fixes
  • Fix issue reading gas mixes and CNS from a D4i in some cases.
  • Fix issue reading dates from certain Oceanic devices.
  • Fix issue naming smart logs if the smart logs section is hidden.
  • Fix issue downloading from some OSTC3s.
  • Fix issue downloading some Seabear data.
And iPhone, v1.1.0:

New Features
  • Major cloud syncing performance improvements.
  • Added support for the Shearwater Perdix.
  • Added support for the DiveNav Bluebuddy.
  • Added a “New Dive” screen.
  • Added a setting to toggle between 12 or 24 hour time display.
  • Added a setting to display totals in hours/minutes or days/hours/minutes.
  • Added some new flags.
  • Added “Time Underwater” to Site Details.
  • Added “Currency” to Gear Details.
  • Added option to disable syncing photos per-dive.
  • Dive List will now refresh if dives being displayed are deleted after sync.
  • Various UI and performance improvements.
Bug Fixes
  • Various minor bug fixes.
Enjoy. We have a lot more to come, so we're getting back to work on the next round of updates. Please keep the feedback coming, and of course let us know if you run in to any issues.

Note that MacDive for Mac now officially requires OS X 10.9+. Apologies for any inconvenience. A very small minority of users are still using Lion, even less Mountain Lion. We do have a build available for OS X 10.7 if you need it, with some minor caveats. These releases are not backwards compatible due to some internal changes, so we will still provide limited 10.7 support for the meantime to keep it compatible with the iPhone version.

Also, thanks to everyone who helped test these releases with TestFlight. We appreciate the help, and hopefully it will allow us to keep new versions nice and stable.

Thanks for all of your work - great piece of software. Did have a quick question - since iPhone 6/6+/6s/6s+ are NFC capable, was wondering if this might be integrated into the app one day for quick transfer from the H3?

Whats the criteria for auto-matching dives? Same as in the past, i.e. within 5 minutes of each other start time? Just want to know how much I need to enter on mobile to match up with download from computer.

Thanks

Less strict than in the past - it's only the dive start time that matters. From memory it's within two minutes, but I'm not at home to double-check that right now.
