Cloud Sync doesn't appear to do anything

In Macdive 2.5.1, Cloud Sync doesn't appear to do anything useful. It creates a few directories in my Dropbox folder, but nothing seems to appear in them. The dialog box in Maldive continues to show last date synced as "never" and clicking the Sync Now button doesn't appear to do anything. I'm not even sure where to start with troubleshooting this.

Try this:

1. Preferences > Cloud, and disable sync by unchecking Sync with Dropbox

2. Quit and restart MacDive

3. Preferences > Cloud, re-enable sync

Let me know if that resolves the issue.

Thanks

I actually have tried this a couple of times.

If I delete the Macdive directories from my Dropbox, re-enabling Sync will cause creation of empty directories under Apps/Macdive, but it seems not to do anything beyond that. If I disable and re-enable Sync without deleting the directories, I can't see evidence that anything happens at all.

Can you drop me an email? I'll shoot you a new beta and get some info from you to debug what's actually going on.

Just in case others are looking at this thread... in my case the Dropbox sync is working perfectly. I hope the problems "mstevens" had are resolved!

Me, too!

nick got the beta to me immediately, but I've been in Cozumel since then. Cable internet speed to my house is deplorable, so the fact that I haven't succeeded in getting Sync to work with the new version is consistent with the fact that I haven't been able to get any other things to sync or download either.

We can always look in the logs to see what is going on. But if you're having trouble with the 'net, then that is going to be an issue. The downside to the cloud..

For what it's worth, the next update (for both iPhone and OS X) has massively improved syncing performance, both speed and size.
