A few newbie questions

Post by sparki »

I've just downloaded macdive and from what i have read it looks like it'll work well :)

i have a question:

i have dive log on my iphone. i will have macdive on my macbook

both devices are synchronised (lets say both have upto dive # 100 on them). i have my iphone on the boat for the days diving and the macbook is in the room on shore. can i then enter dive site name, gps co-ordinates etc. as dive #101 on my iphone, then at the end of the day sync my dive computer with the macbook so that the macbook has dive #101, 102 etc etc THEN sync my iphone to the macbook to get the dive site name, co-ordinates etc for dive #101 etc that was entered on the iphone earlier in the day?

does that make sense?

many thanks :)

That is exactly how it works, at least that is how I do it!

Yep like Joel says this is how it works. The help specifically covers how to sync (see the iOS Sync Guide) as there are some things you need to do - in particular, ensure the dive time is within a couple of minutes so a match can be found. The help explains it all.
