2.3.7 Update

Post by nick »

Time to get a bunch of this stuff out of beta!

New Features:
  • Added support for the Mares Smart
  • Added support for the Oceanic VTX
  • Added support for the Sherwood Amphos Air
  • Added support for the Suunto EON Steel
  • Added various new Smart Log criteria for Tanks.
  • Enhanced managing of Gear service dates.
Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed a crash displaying SAC statistics.
  • Fixed issue causing syncing to get stuck Preparing Database.
  • Fixed issue where some dives wouldn’t be renumbered correctly.
  • Fixed issue reading certain LVD files.
  • Fixed issue reading XML files.

Some cool new devices, along with the usual bug fixes. Hopefully that's the last of the dreaded "Preparing Database.." issue. Apologies for the delay in getting the fix out, this update contains a number of other internal improvements that needed some thorough testing.

I think my favourite feature is the fix to gear service dates. Ever since 2.0.0, this has been really broken. There was no way to clear a service date, and if something didn't have a date, it would simply show you the last selected one. It was incredibly confusing so hopefully this helps.

More to come. Really awesome stuff. Soon.

I just installed this update today and now I can't sync with my iOS devices. Any suggestions? When I enable Wifi sync on the devices and go to iOS sync in MacDive, the device never shows up. The network and such haven't changed since the last time I synced.

There's no change to iOS syncing in this update. Usually this is just general network issues - reboot your phone/computer and it should resolve it.

Also check you have wifi enabled on the iOS device.

Re: 2.3.7 Update Suunto Steel Download Air

Post by ke6nyt »

Just got back from my first boat dive using the EON Steel with my Pod. When I download the dives into MacDive, there is no air pressure data. Everything else seems to be OK that I can tell. I downloaded the dives using the Suunto DM5 software, which I don't like, and the air pressures do download. So in your capture routine you must not be getting the beginning air ending air data.

Hi there,

You're not using one of the earlier betas, which didn't record pressure?

The official 2.3.7 should. If this is not the case, please drop me an email. I'll send you a beta version to extract some info so I can take a look. What I tested imported the pressure fine, but support is pretty new so there's likely some bugs.

Nick,
I am using 2.3.7 and the air pressure data from the Eon Steel DOES download into Suunto's DM5 software and does show up. I hate DM5 by the way! I just now reconnected my Eon Steel and re-downloaded my dives off of it into Mac Dive and I get 0's for all air pressure data.

Looks like this is due to the recent firmware update. I've updated MacDive and pressure should be working again. If anybody wants a beta, drop me an email, otherwise the fix will be in the next release.
