Suunto SDE import tank data (again)

Post by rlmalisz »

I have been through this, but it was long enough back that I don't remember exactly what happened or what I had to do to fix things. But now my SO/dive buddy is making the move to MacDive, and is seeing the same issue.

Her data imports from SDE okay, but she winds up with tanks with sizes in Imperial (her chosen units) but working pressure in bar. And wacky SAC numbers. She's tried changing the WP to PSI (which is what I recall doing), and that doesn't seem to get her new SAC numbers for the dives with the changed tank immediately, although they seem to get refigured on MacDive restart. So here come my questions:

1) why is the imported tank WP still showing up in bar? Especially if the sizes don't?
2) if she corrects the WP to PSI, if she then imports more dives via SDM=>SDE, are those going to become "new tanks", since they'll have a different WP than the corrected ones?

FWIW, here's the XML from the SDE file for one dive that pertains (this is an AL80 tank):

<CYLINDERDESCRIPTION>Aluminum 80</CYLINDERDESCRIPTION>
<CYLINDERSIZE>80</CYLINDERSIZE>
<CYLINDERUNITS>1</CYLINDERUNITS>
<CYLINDERWORKPRESSURE>206850</CYLINDERWORKPRESSURE>
<CYLINDERSTARTPRESSURE>197887</CYLINDERSTARTPRESSURE>
<CYLINDERENDPRESSURE>35854</CYLINDERENDPRESSURE>

In the MacDive GUI, this tank shows up with size=80 but WP=206.

Email me a sample SDE file and I will take a look.
