Download issue on iPhone app

Hi Nick,

today i made 4 dives using my Suunto Vyper Air computer. After the dives, i used my DC Buddy to download the new dives to the iPhone app. When doing that i ran into some issues:

1. I used "only new dives" as the import setting. However, instead of only the 4 new dives (all the others were already in the app) the app downloaded 36 dives from my Vyper Air. So the list of imported dives showed 32 duplicate dives that were already in the app. I deleted these.

2. Then i edited the 4 new dives (renumbered them (because of the 32 duplicate dives that i had to delete) added the site, gear, buddy, details etc etc). This all went well.

3. After that i synced the iPhone app. I did this manually using the sync now button. When sync was complete, all information was lost from the 4 new dives. They still were visible in the list of dives, but contained no information. I closed the app and opened it again. Then the dives were completely gone.

4. I then opened Macdive on my macbook. Macdive started syncing automatically at start-up, but the new dives didn't appear.

5. I connected the DC buddy to the iPhone again, and started a new import. Again, instead of the 4 new dives, the app imported 36 dives. I deleted the 32 duplicates again and edited the 4 new ones (but only added the site, type and buddy and renumbered them). Then synced the iPhone app, and the dives remained visible. After that synced Macdive on my macbook, and the 4 new dives appeared. I then added all the rest of the information in Macdive, and synced that back to the iPhone. After that, everything was ok.

Was i doing something wrong in the way i tried to import the 4 new dives and add details to them? Or is there something going wrong?

Hi,

There's an issue with that device currently, the "only new dives" setting is being ignored. It's fixed for the next release. Unfortunately there won't be time to get it submitted before Apple stop accepting updates for the holiday etc.

The rest sounds kind of odd. It should all sync, nothing should be disappearing.

Is this urgent? If it is, please email support so we can try and work something out. If not, then the next update should hopefully take care of the problems.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the quick reply.
No, it is not urgent but just something i noticed when trying the download function.
I will wait for the update and then give it another try.

Happy holidays!

Cool, sorry about that. Stupidly left the "new dive" check commented out when I was testing something myself. I just noticed it and fixed it a few days ago.

Nice to hear your device is downloading, though - I haven't tested a Vyper myself.

Hi Nick,
I have problems with connecting my very new OSTC2 to MacDive iOS on my iPhone 6S and my iPad Air. Neither the phone nor the iPad will connect to the OSTC. They do not find any new device.
MacDive on my MacBookPro is downloading the dives perfectly and with the OSTC companion I have access to the dive computer too. So, what am I doing wrong when I use the iOS App?

Someone else reported an issue with an OSTC2 and I've been waiting to hear back from them. I'm not sure - are you on TestFlight? If so, can you please install the latest TestFlight beta, and then email me. It contains some extra debug info.

If you're not, please email me anyway, and we'll get you set up.

I've had confirmation it works from another user so I'm not sure what's going on - need to look in to it.

Thanks for the info. This is now resolved in TestFlight, and will be in the next update of course.
