Not in the App at the moment unfortunately, but we were also discussing adding that as a convenience.

For now:

1. Go to Preferences > General
2. Hit "Show MacDive Folder in Finder"
3. Select the "Photos" Folder, right click and choose "Get Info"

This will show you how much it's taking up.

Also, if your images are really large, one thing you could do (as suggested on another thread somewhere) is run a resizing tool over them, to reduce their size.

I used to store 2-3MB photos, but now I store significantly smaller ones. They don't need to be massive to look great on a retina screen, and I don't need them huge in MacDive either. I have my originals in Aperture. So I generally export much smaller images to put in to MacDive. Syncs faster, uses less space, etc. For me after I've processed them it's not even really an extra step, I just have a simple MacDive preset configured in Aperture so it's a one click export.

There are tools to resize them in place in your MacDive folder so it's relatively simple/quick, though I can't give you a specific recommendation on one. This may not be an option, but something worth looking at.

Thank you again for making this great programm and app. And thank you again for the (quick) reply! Super!! :D

That I did not think about that myself.

Then I have another question;

Will/would it be a problem to resize the photo's (with for example Adobe Photoshop) in that particular "photo" folder in the MacDive folder on MacOS and put them back with the same file-name?

Nope, absolutely not. That's what I was suggesting before - if you google around, you should be able to find a simple app that will let you drag in the Photos folder and do the whole lot for you.

Or if you're a Photoshop Guru you can of course automate that a bit as well. :)

Strange. Dropbox says it can't sync because my dropbox seems to be full.
I have 'photo sync' off, but it still syncs photos via my dropbox
Mst of the data size = the photo folder). -> Can I empty the 'photo' folder in the dropbox folder?

There are two parts to syncing Photos.

1. Gear / Certification / Profile / Site / Critter images. This always happens.

2. The actual Photos that are attached to dives. This is the optional part, that "Sync Photos" toggles.

If your Dropbox is full, you can either pay to extend it, or you can manually delete them (there's no way in MacDive to do this right now). You want to go to Apps > MacDive > images, and just remove the Photos folder. They are named nicely at the top level so you know which folder stores what.

Perhaps you could specify which problem you are referring to, as there are multiple problems in this thread?

Thanks!
