Dive times vs. surface intervals

A little suggestion on something that confused the heck out of me (but I may just be slower than most):
Both dive times and surface intervals are entered in the same format ("00:00"), but I have noticed that while in dive times it is intended to be "MM:SS" and in surface intervals it is intended to be "HH:MM". I stupidly entered both in the "MM:SS" format and had to redo a whole bunch of manually entered dives.
Is there a way to format this differently? Ideally in the entry box itself, may use the hour/minute/second markers, so 22'44'' for dive times and 04H30' for surface intervals? I mean, I expect to remember now, but just in case.
