New Releases - macOS 2.10.9, iOS 1.3.8

Post by nick »

I've just released a new version for macOS. A new version for iOS has been submitted to Apple, but I needed to get a fix out sooner rather than later, so macOS is available now.

macOS / iOS:
  • Improved Shearwater support for newer firmware
  • Added Bluetooth support for Aqualung i300C
  • Added Bluetooth support for Aqualung i770R
  • Added Bluetooth support for Oceanic Pro Plus X
  • Fixed issue reading gas from an Aqualung i200
  • Minor bug fixes
The iOS version also has support for the i770R and Pro Plus X, plus assorted minor bug fixes. Should be available in a day or two.

Update: Thanks Apple, super quick approval! The release notes are pretty much the same for both. :)

Just downloaded the new release and now I cannot complete my Cressi Giotto to MacBook Air sync.
Worked previously
Have rebooted laptop

Starts the download sequence but doesn't complete

Error message
"Important Error
MacDive encountered a problem downloading from your Cressi Giotto:

Failed to read dive computer memory (Error Code: -8)" pops up

Wish I hadn't upgraded

Nothing changed in regards to the Giotto in this version. It's possibly just a coincidence - often times people will update and run in to a problem and simply blame the update because it worked when they tried a year ago on some old version. It can be as simple as a low battery, and not necessarily an unrelated update.

Sorry you wish you hadn't upgraded. Perhaps disable automatic updates, and do not update in the future. Just keep in mind, I spend a lot of time enhancing OS compatibility, fixing bugs, adding improvements, so you would be missing out on that, and you may run in to legitimate issues if you upgrade your macOS or some such. But this is an option for you, if you prefer to do it that way.

Thanks.

For what it’s worth, there is a newer update (2.10.10). You can either upgrade, or email me, and I will give you the link to the previous version. I don’t think this is the answer, but if you prefer that, you’re welcome to use it.

Hi Nick - with the new update you've renamed SAC to RMV. Is there a way to change the dive screen to plot RMV instead of SAC? Here's a screen shot from the macOS version:

Thinking about it a little more, I suppose if you are diving with multiple tanks of different sizes and switching during a dive, then RMV would serve to normalise those out. I guess this should be changed.

Hi Nick

I have just noticed that the RMV and SAC for my older dives (where I did not have a computer logging the dive) no longer show in the fields in a dive log list.

The RMV and SAC values are calculated and show in the individual dive's Gases information panel, just not in the main dive log list, and no longer appear in the statistics charts.

regards

SAC was renamed to RMV. You can enable both as table columns. They are both in statistics also.

There is however an issue where these values for certain manually entered dives will not display correctly, which is fixed for the next release.
