Post by nick »

Howdy,

I've just released a new version of MacDive for macOS, v2.10.0, to go with yesterdays iOS release.

New Features
  • Added support for macOS Mojave, including dark mode
  • Added support for the MacBook Pro Touch Bar
  • Added support for the Mares Quad Air
  • Added support for the Oceanic Pro Plus X
  • Added support for the Scubapro Chromis
  • Added support for the Scubapro Mantis
  • Added support for the Scubapro Mantis 2
  • Added support for the Scubapro Meridian
  • Added support for the Shearwater Teric
  • Added support for the Seac Guru
  • Added support for the Seac Jack
  • Added support for the Subgear XP Air
  • Reimplemented Photo Browser (for Dives, Sites, Critters)
  • Photo browser now shows identified critters under thumbnails
  • The Identify Critters window now supports multiple photo selection
  • You can now right-click an image in CoverFlow view to identify a Critter
  • Ignore empty values when calculating dive site average depths
  • Ignore empty ratings when calculating dive site average ratings
  • GPS from a Garmin Descent now recorded in the notes as a convenience
  • Added some new flags
  • Rearranged toolbar menus slightly to be a little more useful
  • Read average depth from Shearwater and Garmin devices instead of calculating it, for consistency
  • Misc download improvements for various devices
  • The list of Certifications will now include ones you've entered manually
  • If you change the font in Notes, this should now be remembered
  • Renamed Dive Number column to Number (and just # if you make it small)
  • Big performance fix for dive logs with lots of dives and tags
  • Various UI improvements and misc performance fixes
  • MacDive now requires macOS 10.11 or later
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed issue causing selection oddness and performance issue in Sites Map
  • Fixed issue refreshing sites after syncing
  • Fixed gas mix icons on non-retina displays
  • Fixed potential crash importing SQL databases
  • Fixed bug where dragging images from Photo Browser to Finder would move them instead of copying them
  • Fixed issue causing Site images to render incorrectly
  • Fixed issue reading NDL from the Garmin Descent
  • Fixed bug reading gas switches for the D6i with latest firmware
  • Fixed issue with automatically syncing to cloud not working
  • Fixed crash calculating stats for dives with an invalid date
  • Fixed issue downloading from a G2 with latest firmware
  • Various minor bug fixes
Enjoy, and as usual, please let me know of any problems.

Edit: I have released 2.10.3, which has a few little bug fixes. Thanks for the feedback!

Cheers,
-nick

I just installed this version and it keeps crashing.

After I installed it was fine and then I clicked on the NDT button and it crashed. Now it crashes every time I try to open it.

Please email the crash report to support. It is impossible to help you based on "it crashes". Send your MacDive.sqlite data file also.

Thanks.

Yeah, I get that, but the crash report no longer happens.

Edit: The crash window was hiding in the background. I have sent the report and gone back to 2.9.4 (beta).

Thanks. Someone else ran in to it earlier and I have a crash report anyway. Looks like it's an issue specific to macOS 10.12.*. I'll try and find a 10.12 machine over the weekend to investigate.

I can make it crash on 10.11.6 by toggling the NDT button. I sent you the crash report.

It only includes Entry point. There's no Exit in Notes.

I am trying to update from 2.9.4 to 2.10.3. The update process runs normally until I hit "quit and relaunch" when I get a pop-up with an error message. Despite the message saying the new version will be available the next time I launch MacDive, this never happens and I keep getting asked to update. I am on Mojave so would really like the latest version to work.

So.. what’s the error?

Have you tried just downloading the latest manually from the website?

I tried to paste the error message but the website wouldn't let me.

It says: "An error occurred while relaunching MacDive, but the new version will be available next time you run Mac Dive".

I'll try downloading from the website.
