export location data from aeris computer interface

Post by sushi »

Hi There,

I exported my Aeris Epic dives, over 200, from the Windows Aeris Computer Interface program in txt format and imported them into MacDive. Looks like Macdive has all the data except location name, dive site name, and diver name.

When I look at the txt files, that data is not there, so it's obviously not getting exported by the Windows CI. I poked around CI but don't see any options for specifying which data is exported.

Is there any way to get this data exported from CI and then imported into Macdive?

The diver name is not a big deal. I'm guessing I can update all dives at once. But I really don't want to have to type in 200 site names.

Thanks

There's no convenient way. However I'm happy to do this myself as a one-off. If you email me the file, I will send you something back that MacDive can read.

Caveat: No promises. It may fail. Hair may fall out of odd places. Etc.

That would be awesome. Thank you so much for the offer!

Do you need the .bak file?

Sorry, I forgot to mention - the main DLG file is what I'm after.

I've sent you an XML file you can drag/drop on to MacDive to read the dives with much more information than the TXT files.

You're welcome!

You'll probably want to do a little tidy up on it, but nothing like entering hundreds of site names manually :)

Ok, tidy up time...

So is there a way to select a bunch of dives, and bulk add the country, without affecting the existing site name? Same thing for the location field. Can I bulk edit location without affecting the site name?

I don't see how to do this! With both the "Change" and "New Site" options on the Site dialog, if I don't select a site, it sets it to Unknown.

Thanks.
