Thank you guys, the problem is that I want to have the heart rate monitor, that's where the problem lies.

I would be interested in the idea why someone constitutes the heart rate gizmo as a condition.

What is expected from this feature while diving (disregarding advertising messages). What shall be the benefit of a computer knowing my heart rate while diving and comprising it for calculation of which figure? I would even be sour the belt on my skin.

I haven't yet savvied the overvalue.

Hello again,

I understand what you're saying, and up until very recently I wasn't very worried about any gizmos (not even air integration) but since only a year or so ago I'm pretty interested in checking my heart rate as I've started going to the gym, lost some weight and improved my overall fitness because still after all these years of diving a 12L tank is never enough for me.

One of the first things I did when I started was to get a cheap hart rate monitor and I've seen my evolution from continuously hitting 180bpm (my maximum allowance for my age) to being now round 160bpm at full stress. I just want to compare my normal exercise regime with scuba diving, and see how I am underwater in terms of fitness, hence I need to compare via heart rate.

Lastly, Garmin has just launched a new wrist dive computer watch, which is pretty cool, it has "supposed" air integration, heart rate monitor, and gas mixes (up to trimix) besides being a normal running/hiking watch: https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/568181.

Pity is not supported by MacDive, else I'll go to the shop and buy it right away.

I used to be a Garmin fan and had many of their devices over the years. In the past few years, they've made it difficult to integrate to Garmin Connect and charge $5000 for access to the API. I have now migrated to other platforms -- mainly Wahoo Fitness for running & biking.

And that's only the Connect API, meaning you still need to use their apps to download, and can then sync via that (like Strava does, for example).

It may be possible to read the FIT files, but would still need an extra step.

I should hopefully have support for the G2 soon. I'm just waiting on a test unit.

Jam,

What did you decide in the end?

I have betas of both macOS and iOS now that support the G2 (and heart rate monitor). I’d be keen to get some feedback if you or anyone else us one.

Hello, I haven't decided yet, I have some family problems to take care off right now, terribly sorry. If I eventually go for it I¡ll let you know.

Sorry to hear that. Don't apologise! I was just letting you know it's there for the future.

Hope everything is ok.
