OS X Mavericks Compatibility

Post by nick »

With the release of OS X Mavericks, there are a few people experiencing issues running MacDive 2.2.5.

Unfortunately some things behind the scenes changed, and parts of MacDive that previously worked fine are now causing a couple of problems. I believe the issues have all been resolved in the latest beta, which you can download here:

http://www.mac-dive.com/downloads/MacDive_Beta.zip

If you run in to issues, please give this version a try, and let me know if you still have any problems. I believe the fixes here have resolved all of the issues that I have been made aware of so far. Hopefully that's the last of it, and I can push this out as an official update shortly.

Apologies for the inconvenience!

This is now available in the official release. Don't use the beta, if you have any issues just download a fresh copy of 2.2.6 directly from the website.

Cheers!

Haven't attempted downloads in a while and discovered I can't download from mac 10.9.1 to MacDive 2.2.6. I did download and install a fresh version from the web site. No change.
Cobalt firmware is 1.41/2

When i attempt to download I get bulk read error (ffffff7)

My Cobalt is working fine. Are you sure your device is in PC Transfer mode, with the green "connected" text? This is the usual problem people have.

Yes - It is connected with the green CONNECTED! (love the exclamation point) indicated.
What is strange is that it seems to be able to grab the header info of my three most recent dives with just the date and time of the dive. Nothing else including dive # is downloaded including dive number. That shows as zero for the three dives. The dives look normal in the computer log.

For the forum, this was basically a rare situation that caused an issue with downloading. A fix will be in the next update!

Hi Nick,

I have started getting the same error too with regards to my Cobalt (1.42/2).
I thought I had downloaded dives since upgrading to 2.2.6.
Is there a workaround until the next release? I have quite a few dives now that I'd like to upload if possible.

(I am assuming I am getting the same error as discussed:
1st read attempt: Bulk Read Error (fffffff7).
2nd attempt: Unable to open device (e00002c5)
)

regards,
Paul.
