When merging dives consider the diver

Good day to all of you!
My children recently got certified and we have added them in to our copy of MacDive so we can track everyone’s dives across all our devices and share sites, critters, etc.
The only problem we have run into is when loading dive data from our dive computers and trying to merge with the information we entered at the dive sites. Even though each of the dive computers we are loading from is assigned to one of us in the gear settings the program does not take that into account when attempting to auto-merge the dives. Therefore, the data from my dive computer will attempt to merge with my dive for one dive, my partner’s dive for another, and each of our kid’s dives for other ones. I have not seen how I can tell it to point at a different existing dive during the auto-merge process (my apologies if this is there and I just missed it).
Therefore, my request is for one of the following:

- have the auto-merge feature take into account the diver on the data to be merged; or
- allow me to select two dives and tell them to merge.
