Since my dives are sorted with the newest on top and the oldest at the bottom, the "previous" button takes me to a newer dive, while the "next" button takes me to an older dive. This is confusing.
How about replacing those with buttons with up and down arrows instead?

Re: Previous / next buttons are confusing
You are taken to the next or previous dive in the list, with respect to your sorting. Not everyone sorts by date. The images could be an option but it seems a bit overkill...
Re: Previous / next buttons are confusing
It looks like I'm not the only one:
"Previous" and "next" has a semantic meaning that makes me think of the next and previous dive in terms of time or dive number. I know what the buttons do in MacDive, but still get confused from time to time.
How about "up" and "down" instead, if you don't like arrows?
GKirkaldie wrote:I see what he's saying, say you have ordered your dives by date, most recent at top. If you click on dive 100, then click on next dive, you get dive 99. It's backwards, when you click on next dive, you get the one before it.
You could use unicode arrows if images are overkill: ⬆ ⬇bogaerbr wrote:But could we see this on a new release as an option in the preferences?
I personally like to see my most recent dive on top of the list.
If this is the order by which I present my dives, the 'next dive' will be the older one, and the 'previous dive' the most recent...
That doesn't sound logical to me.
