Hi there,
after installing the fresh version 2.8.2 because of problems with starting up the software I have figured out that I can not make updates ...
If I press checking for updates I get this message:
MacDive can’t be updated when it’s running from a read-only volume like a disk image or an optical drive. Move MacDive to your Applications folder, relaunch it from there, and try again.
What is wrong now ?
Best regards,
Marc

Re: No update possible
Exactly what the error says. You are running it from the disk image. Move it to your Applications folder.

I am starting out of the Applications folder ...

Re: No update possible
Unfortunately I have never had a report of this for any reason other than running it out of the Disk Image. Maybe there is something different about your Applications folder than everyone else?
I would try rebooting, double-checking you really did copy it to your Applications folder, etc. I'm at work right now and can't offer you anything more specific to try as I don't have access to a Mac.
What I would do, though, is open a Terminal, then copy/paste this:
ps -eff | grep MacDive
In to it, hit enter, then copy/paste me the result.

Re: No update possible
update worked fine in the past. One day there was the problem with the startup crash. After that I have installed the new version ...
Ok, here is what the terminal answered

If you are at work and you have no time, no problem. I would go to bed and check tomorrow ...

How are you moving the app to your Applications folder?
Re: No update possible
mount the image after downloading, drag and drop into the Applications folder (link in the image)
