Re: Can dives be entered manually
I'm new to MacDive and pretty new to scuba. My first 34 dives are in a written dive log that is not computerized. Can I manually enter these first dives before doing my first download from my new dive computer? Absolutely. Just select File Menu: New Dive and fill in the blanks on each tab. I think ...

Re: GPS Integration for dive sites.
If you're going to undertake this, perhaps supporting the Garmin .FIT file format would be worth the effort, as it is the de facto standard for sharing location and fitness information. It would let you overlay heart rate data on a dive in the event that someone makes an underwater heart rate monito...

Re: Smart Log for Boat dives
I use Entry Type for how I got into the water (Giant Stride, etc.)
I have added Boat Dive as a Dive Type and use that to make my smart logs.

Re: Mixed Imperial/Metric Dives Upload Incorrectly from Perd
Hmm. The code appears to be correct - the units are read and things converted as they should be. Can you clarify exactly which depth is incorrect - the max, or per-sample depths? Also which version of MacDive for iOS specifically you are using. It does appear that Max Depth is the incorrect value. ...

Mixed Imperial/Metric Dives Upload Incorrectly from Perdix
This seems like an edge case, so I don't know if you will want to bother to fix. In between uploads to MacDive, and after an imperial dive, I changed my settings on the Shearwater Perdix AI to report depths in meters instead of feet. On uploading to MacDive iOS (which was still set to Imperial) the ...

Diver Birthdate Changes w/ Time Zone Change
I don't know if the issue is in macOS or iOS or both, but when I went from the US to Australia, and the computer automatically updated the time zone, birthdates on all of my divers advanced by a day. Manually changing the time zone on macOS reverted the dates back a day. My assumption is behavior is...

Re: I need a new 'advanced' computer? Any ideas?
I used to be a Garmin fan and had many of their devices over the years. In the past few years, they've made it difficult to integrate to Garmin Connect and charge $5000 for access to the API. I have now migrated to other platforms -- mainly Wahoo Fitness for running & biking. https://developer.g...

Re: Auto Add Images to All Matching Dives
Ah, okay. I'm not particularly space sensitive, so that will work for me. Thanks for pointing out the option!
